SAFETY SWITCHES

Safety switches monitor the flow of electricity through a circuit and detect a problem that may pose a risk to personal safety and turn the power off within 0.03 of a second and must be installed in every switchboard.

 Safety Switches must be tested regularly as they have a limited life.

 Additional circuits may need to be installed from the switchboard to reduce the load. If your Safety Switch trips out immediately, or soon after being reset, then it is highly likely that you have a faulty appliance. You will need to disconnect all appliances on the protected circuit and individually test each one until you find the fault or have the Safety Switch replaced

Neither Safety Switches or Circuit Breakers protect against dangerous electrical surges coming into the home.

A fact not often understood by most homeowners, but not all of them last that long so when you change your batteries take note of the date on your alarm and have them replaced if they are older than 10 years.
